Women’s & Academy Physiotherapist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced candidate to join the Performance Department at Norwich City Football Club in the role of Physiotherapist working across both the Women’s and Academy teams.

The successful candidate will lead the delivery of high quality medical and therapeutic services to Norwich City Women’s team and provide additional support to Academy squads. This role will deliver evidence based clinical care, injury prevention, pitch-side cover and rehabilitation in alignment with best practice.

Key tasks/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Delivery of the high standard of medical, preventative and therapeutic care to all Women’s team and Academy players and trialists.
  • Leading the education of players, helping them to take an active part and responsibility for their health, wellbeing and performance.
  • Lead and deliver excellent standards of assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of all women’s team players, and academy squad members as required.
  • To monitor Women’s team players physical, mental wellbeing and female health creating individualised plans in conjunction with the Academy & Women’s Physical Performance Coach.
  • Communicating clearly and with key stakeholders to inform on injury availability and return to perform timelines.
  • To provide pitch side care to all Women’s team training and matches.
  • To be responsible for fully documenting and maintaining confidentiality in  line with HCPC and Norwich City FC standards.
  • In conjunction with relevant staff from the performance department, complete specific profiling assessments to gather information and generate and implement injury prevention programmes.
  • Complete pre-signing medicals, in conjunction with relevant staff from the performance department to support key stakeholders with making informed decisions on player acquisitions.
  • To work with the Academy & Women’s Physiotherapy Lead to create and refine medical standard operating procedures for the Women’s team, and keep them up to date.
  • To act in a manner that supports the Club’s Values of Growth, Integrity, Belonging, Resilience, Pride and Commitment

Qualifications:

Essential

  • HCPC Registered Physiotherapist
  • Minimum 3 years working within the elite sport environment – which must include football
  • Live ITMMiF certificate 
  • Extensive ‘Return to Perform’ experiences
  • DBS certified and full driving license
  • Knowledge of UK Anti-Doping regulations

Desirable

  • Live ATMMiF certificate (or equivalent)
  • MSc in Physiotherapy or a Sport Science related subject
  • Recognised strength and conditioning qualification (e.g., NSCA CSCS or UKSCA   
  • Experience of working with elite female athletes
